UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital’s CEASE California Receives Silver Award

UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital’s CEASE California, a leader in reducing secondhand smoke exposure in children and developers of the project, eLearning Mind, won a coveted Brandon Hall Group silver award for excellence in the Best Advance in Custom Content category.

New York, New York – CEASE California and eLearning Mind’s win was announced on September 7, 2016. The winners are listed at http://www.brandonhall.com/excellenceawards/past-winners.php © 2016 Brandon Hall Group, Inc.

Jyothi Marbin, MD, Principal Investigator for CEASE California states, “We are thrilled to receive the award from Brandon Hall! CEASE seeks to support pediatric healthcare providers in helping parents quit smoking. The online training produced by eLearning Mind is incredibly helpful in teaching providers about medications to help smokers quit and resources available to smokers who are ready to quit. In a country where smoking is still the leading cause of preventable death, causing nearly 500,000 deaths each year, this module is an incredibly important public health resource, and we are thrilled to see it recognized.”

Simon Casuto, co-founder and President of eLearning Mind states, “When Jyothi Marbin from UCSF Children’s Hospital’s CEASE California program came to us with this project, we were personally touched by their mission and vision for the program. The largest barrier CEASE faced was insufficient time on the pediatrician side to complete in-person trainings, so the organization contracted eLearning Mind to create an online version of the training that would provide the same kind of knowledge retention and results. Our team utilized strong visual design paired with smart challenges to help pediatricians learn and retain the important CEASE content to become a part of the mission to combat this worthy cause. We were honored to be apart of this project, and we look forward to watching the continued success and growth of the CEASE California program.”

“Winning a Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award means an organization is an elite innovator within Human Capital Management. The award signifies that the organization’s work represents a leading practice in that HCM function,” said Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Officer of Brandon Hall Group and head of the awards program. “Their achievement is also notable because of the positive impact their work in HCM has on business results. All award winners have to demonstrate a measurable benefit to the business, not just the HCM operation. That’s an important distinction. Our HCM award winners are helping to transform the business.” Excellence Award winners will be honored at Brandon Hall Group’s HCM Excellence Conference January 24-27, 2017, at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
